A long-time friend, business advisor and networker asked me who could repair his cassette tape deck. He was going to do it himself but once he removed the case, it looked a little more difficult than he imagined. I wanted to give it a try and he said ok.
There are two rubber belts in the deck and one of them disintegrated. The other is still there and seems to be still working. I plan on replacing the two new belts in the unit. We’re waiting for replacement belts to arrive. The first ones were the wrong type: too wide and flat. The correct ones are square and thin. My client has to order the belts a third time because the package he opened yesterday was empty. I hope the next package has the right belts!
