A computer customer got an email supposedly from FaceBook this week. It states he has to enable something called FaceBook protect. The reason was his account has the potential to reach a lot of people so FB requires stronger security. My customer writes a daily political poem on his Facebook account which has over 500 followers around the world. I guess they don’t want his account to get hacked and it cause problems on his followers FaceBook accounts. It warned he had a week to enable it or his account would be locked.

It turns out this was legitimate after I investigated. I have this option in FaceBook as well. It just wasn’t forced on me like my client since i have a lesser reach. The way to turn it on is under Settings-security settings -Two-factor authentication. Then you have three options for the two-factor authentication to be used.
