I love Social Media because it let’s me show off personally and advertise professionally. It lets me see what’s going on with my family, friends and clients.  Another use is promoting Networking Groups I attend and the one I help run.  At last weeks New Haven Chamber networking group we had a good turnout with more people than could fit into the conference room.  We had to move out into the larger ballroom of Rack and Helens and finished with the remaining people giving their commercials.  I took three pictures of our group during the meeting using my smartphone.  A few hours later, I posted a picture to my personal LinkedIn feed.  I remembered what Cheryl Friar of Womens Premier Networking told me years ago about creating interest in your networking group.  She said tagging people helps a lot to get your post noticed. So this time I tagged about 15 of my LI contacts who were at the meeting and some who were not and then posted the picture.  I was surprised to see the exposure it got with 15 likes, 5 shares, and 1959 views so far. The wide majority of the views were second level people meaning they are mostly brand new to me!  I will definitely be sharing more pictures of our group and tagging contacts in the future on LinkedIn..
