Today a family member of mine needed to use one of my computers and I didn’t want them in my account, Instead of revealing my password and let them into my private data, I created their own user account and password.  All operating systems have the ability to create multiple users on a computer including Microsoft Windows and Linux distributions. In Windows, use the control panel and look for accounts. In Linux Mint, look under system- Administration- Users and Groups. It’s even a good idea to create an extra user or two in case you get locked out of the main user account. For Apple computers, there probably is a way to create additional users although I haven’t done that on my two apple computers, yet. Now my family member can use my Windows 10 computer and my Linux Mint and have their data segregated and protected from mine. How many of you have multiple user accounts on your computers?
