A new client called Saturday with something new to repair. It was an arcade game console called Street Fighter. The game is played by standing in front of the console and screen and pressing buttons and moving joysticks move your character in a fight.
It went dead while someone was playing it last week. They dropped it off that day and I started troubleshooting it. The external power supply was tested and passed. A ribbon data cable connecting the video screen board and the main circuit board was replaced but didn’t solve the blank screen. Other things were tried like re-seating the other cables and bypassing the power switches. This didn’t fix it and I alerted the client that I couldn’t repair it. The circuit boards probably died from unknown causes.
