One morning last month I received a phone call and a text from someone saying they were my financial institution. These automated alerts said there were two questionable charges today on my bank account and they wanted me to review. I checked my on-line banking account and just like they said, there were two very small fraudulent charges on my account.

I immediately called the telephone number I had on file and spoke to one of the employees who verified with me that they were false. My charge card was terminated and they later sent me a new one. My financial institution started the challenge process and a few weeks later the two charges were reversed.

I’m glad I took the call and text seriously and then called my bank that morning or more charges may have been made.
