My favorite security product, Comodo Internet Security, has many features to help keep your Windows computer protected from viruses and other attacks. One of them is called the Sandbox and It’s used for running programs in a virtual, safe environment in case they become compromised. I routinely run Mozilla Firefox web browser in a sandbox which protects my Windows operating system in case something on the site tries to infect my computer.  Another use would be reading your email in the sandbox in case you downloaded a dangerous attachment or click on a link for ransomeware, rootkits or spyware.  Sandboxed programs are highlighted with a green box around them to distinguish them from non-sandboxed ones.  Comodo also has a way create a sandboxed program shortcut on your Windows desktop to speed-up access to them.  This way one doesn’t have to open Comodo to start the sandbox.
