I’m writing about my many DVD and CD disks I have in my computer office.  They are hardly used any more due to the internet and USB thumb drives. In the past they were heavily used to archive my business data, hold computer utilities and install hardware drivers for hardware drivers.  Since my computer clients don’t have DVD drives any more my DVD disks are hard to access.  On my desktop Linux computers I use them since my computers have DVD drives.

I save my data now on USB thumb drives and external USB drives.  Hardware drivers are now downloaded directly from manufacturers web sites instead of from a DVD which came with the equipment.  In the rare case of my client needing a program installed directly to their computer I download it from the internet or obtain it from my USB thumb drive. But most programs run from the internet directly called the cloud sometimes.

Do you still use DVD or CD disks?
