I was helping a computer client yesterday figure out a slow wireless connection to their work laptop. From what I can recall, the network had many wireless clients including smartphones, laptops, and desktop computers. They also added some repeaters throughout the building for the Wifi signal. We talked awhile about the laptop and it’s location in the basement. The problem my client is having is during his Zoom meetings with many participants, his feed freezes at times. I suggested we try a wired(ethernet) cable to make a more stable network connection to the Frontier router upstairs. Next week I will be running an ethernet cable from the router down through the floor to the basement office. Then we’ll see if I’m right.

An Ethernet network wire and RJ-45 connector.
