Microsoft Security is the built-in protection for Microsoft Windows 10. It can be accessed with the white shield icon on the Windows taskbar. It protects your computer form malicious software like viruses. Some computer experts say this is all you need to protect Windows 10. They claim Windows 10’s improved security over its previous versions doesn’t need anything additional. If you want to use a different security product you may and Microsoft Security will step aside and allow it.
The feature I found recently was the Offline scan option. This option scans your Windows 10 computer before Windows starts and allows it to find rootkits and other deeply embedded infections. Realize your computer will restart once it’s invoked. I use it every couple of weeks to see if anything nasty is lurking in my Windows 10 computers which can’t be found from the normal scans.
