Now I know why I had problems installing programs in Windows 11 last year and last month. There is a an advanced setting under applications

There’s a setting in apps – advanced – recommended settings which has four degrees of security for installing apps. The computers I previously worked with had the highest setting set. This only allows Microsoft Store apps installed. Once you change it to Anywhere, it allows independent apps to be installed. When I bought my windows 11 laptop and tried to install a non-Microsoft Store app, it allowed it. The App settings were checked and it was on Anywhere so thats why it allowed me.
