A computer client of mine was having printing problems on their Windows 10 desktop PC.  A service call was made on their request to get them printing again.  I looked at the installed printers in Windows 10 settings and found two printers and one was a copy.  Both printers were deleted so the printer had to be re-installed again.  The manufacturer’s site was searched for the printer driver and downloaded.  I ran the installation program and it never could find the printer.  I tried the Windows troubleshooter and it suggested the USB cable be unplugged and printer power turned off.  At this point my computer intuition said to look at the USB cable and it looked bent abnormally from being stretched and held in place for many years.  I tried a new USB cable and now it worked.  We through out the defective cable so it would never get used in the future.
