There are so many threats on the internet so I do something for my computers almost every time I stop using them. I’m talking about turning off my network switch in my office. This disconnects the internet to all my wired computers. I do this when I retire for the night unless files are being copied or moved to the file server. I may leave the computers on in my office, but the network switch is powered off in most cases. This minimizes the chance of being penetrated by hackers or malware since the internet is disconnected overnight. Of course I still keep my operating systems patched as best I can and remove unused software from all the computers. I turn off ports and services I’m not using like social media and remote services.
