I was trying to play a video on a web site with sound and couldn’t hear anything. Today I was on my MacBook Air laptop and the sound works on it last time I checked. I checked the volume keyboard controls and they allowed me to increase it to maximum. The screen display showed a picture of a speaker with a full slider control so I know it was working. Next the volume on the video was checked and I moved it to full but still no audio from the laptop.
This was stumping me and I started looking at other things. The web site tabs were examined for the web browser and I found the problem. Some web browsers have an audio option on their web tabs. It’s a tiny speaker icon and can be toggled on or off to turn off the audio on the site. If your site does not have audio no speaker shows. Once I clicked on the speaker, the audio for the web site started playing!
