Thursday, a current business client e-mailed me about a e-mail message. It said they had to click on a link to keep a subscription current. It gave them an ultimatum to respond or their Microsoft 365 would be cancelled the next day.
After analyzing the email I found three issues: it’s got the wrong day of the week for the day of cancellation. It said the message was originating from my client’s IT service desk which they do not have. The email address where it originates is not anything to do with Microsoft.
I then replied to my client that this is a scam so don’t reply to it. ignore it.
