This week one of my businesses texted me about a laptop. It took a tumble recently and now it fails to charge. Now the laptop won’t turn on and the owner was worried all their data is gone as well. The laptop was brought to me and a visual inspection revealed a loose charging port. The bottom cover was removed and the interior of the laptop was inspected near the charging port. I was amazed to find the charging port motherboard connector was unattached! It must have taken a serious blow to unplug it from the motherboard. Once it got reattached, and the AC power supply plugged int, it could be powered on. Windows 11 started normally and the battery charged like it was supposed to.
